Pollitt recently sat on the panel, "Women, Power, and Politics," at the 92nd Street Y in NYC. She talked about how women recognize sexism -- especially in regards to how a woman's attractiveness is always rated, even when it is completely irrelevant -- but wondered whether we reinforce standards of beauty and sexualization by constantly discussing and drawing attention to the unfairness.
